ICON was founded in 2021 with a simple vision: to create a neighbourhood coffee house where great coffee brings people together.
Our journey began in Surbiton with a small community café built on friendly faces, quality coffee, and meaningful local connections. As our community grew, so did our ambition.
The next chapter saw the launch of ICON Coffee & Brunch House Surbiton. Alongside our speciality coffee, we introduced a fresh brunch menu, creating a destination where people could meet, eat, work and unwind.
In 2026, we expanded once again with ICON Matcha x Acai in Kingston, a modern takeaway concept inspired by the growing demand for healthier choices. Specialising in premium matcha, açaí bowls, smoothies and, of course, the coffee offering you have all grown to love, it marked an exciting new direction for the brand.
Today, ICON is more than just coffee. We’re a collection of neighbourhood spaces designed to bring people together through exceptional drinks, fresh food and genuine hospitality. The local residents of Surbiton and Kingston keep our company thriving. It was our first location, the Community Coffee House in Surbiton, that started it all.
What began in the middle of the pandemic was a vision of community coffee in Surbiton. Providing the best possible products with the best possible service. The idea was to create an environment and space that felt welcoming to anyone and everyone.
In a big city like London, community is important, and many bonding experiences form over a good cup of coffee.

Matcha x Açai
Matcha has fast become the go to alternative to coffee, offering a smoother, more sustained lift without the crash. Açaí brings its own reputation as a nutrient dense superfood, packed with antioxidants and natural energy.
We wanted to bring the two together in a way that looked as good as it tasted. And with that, Matcha x Açaí at ICON was born.

From the outside, you really can’t appreciate just how beautiful it is inside. As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted by a bright, stylish space with gorgeous interiors that instantly make you want to stay. The skylight at the back floods the café with natural light, which bounces beautifully around the space. It’s a dream if you love a café with a great atmosphere and somewhere that’s incredibly photogenic.
The coffee is consistently excellent, and they offer a fantastic range of high quality alternative milks, which is a huge plus. The food is always delicious and beautifully presented, looking every bit as good as it tastes.
The staff are always so friendly and welcoming, and a special mention has to go to the air conditioning. On a hot summer’s day, it’s honestly the best!
me . I sat outside and when the Latte was delivered it was done once again with near aggression . I have had such good feedback regarding this cafe however will never visit again .
I am pleasantly surprised, I ordered the raspberry white chocolate matcha (£6.5) & oh my it is incredible! The addition of fresh raspberries with the sweet white chocolate is so well balanced & you can actually taste the matcha too! I was worried the drink was going to be way too sweet however it is perfect. My only issue is the size… it’s tiny & especially for £6.5 it’s very expensive. I would buy it again if the portion is bigger or if it was cheaper.
